Sunflowers and Atomic waste

"Scientists have discovered that sunflowers can pull radioactive contaminants out of the soil," says the program Living On Earth.

Geography students will be tuning in to stories from Living On Earth.

"Researchers cleaning up the Fukushima site in Japan are putting the flowers to the test. Soil scientist Michael Blaylock tells host Bruce Gellerman how this clean-up-by-plant works."
