"I have never let schooling interfere with my education."

What do you think he meant by that?

An interesting quote. I think he meant that school generally tends to teach only the view of the world that it is required to teach and that true education comes from firsthand experience, therefore making traditional schooling a huge pothole in the road of becoming an educated individual.
